NORWALK, Conn. – Giving Day returns to Fairfield County on Thursday, March 1, with 436 non-profit organizations competing for $100,000 in prizes.
Hosted by Fairfield County’s Community Foundation, with lead sponsor Bank of America, Fairfield County’s Giving Day is a powerful 24-hour online fundraising competition that focused on local causes. Last year, this amazing day of giving had extraordinary results: $1,465,246 donated by 13,718 individuals for 414 nonprofits.
This one-day, regional effort harnesses the collective power of individuals, friends, families, businesses, employee groups, school groups, and others to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in giving.
The minimum donation is $10 and there is no maximum. Prize money will be made available during specific “Power Hours” to reward charities in a range of categories, from the most unique donors to the most money raised based on operating budget (large or small), “newbie” or “season enthusiast” non-profits, and more.
Grand prize for the most unique donors is $20,000, while the organization to raise the most money will take home and additional $15,000.
Note: NancyOnNorwalk will be participating in Giving Day, we ask for your support, particularly during the hours of 10 and 11 a.m. Mark your calendar now!
