Fairfield University Glee Club presents “Glee Hits the Big Screen”
The spring performance will feature songs from award-winning and fan-favorite movies.
FAIRFIELD, Conn. (April 24, 2018)— On Wednesday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts, the Fairfield University Glee Club will present their annual end-of-the-year concert, this year taking on the theme, “Glee Hits the Big Screen.” The concert will feature songs from award-winning movies, performances by the Glee Club, and the Fairfield University Chamber Singers, conducted by Carole Ann Maxwell, D.S.M., with accompanist Beth Palmer.
Featured songs from the entire Glee Choir include, “One Night Only” from Dreamgirls and “Wanna be Startin’ Somethin” from Michael Jackson’s This Is It. The evening will also include a variety of solo performances including, “Journey to the Past” form Anastasia, sung by Gabriella Prignano ’19 and “Only Hope” from A Walk to Remember, sung by Jessica Jalbert ’18. Special performances will include the University’s all-female acapella group, Sweet Harmony, and all-male acapella group, The Bensonians.

Founded in 1947, The Fairfield University Glee Club is the oldest club on the Fairfield University campus. The members share a deep love for music and a common desire to achieve excellence in it. The Glee Club has over 110 undergraduate and graduate singers. Their voices explore a wide variety of repertoire, experiencing diverse styles of music and enriching audiences with programming that challenges and inspires.
