NORWALK, Conn. – This is a press release, presented in the format in which it was sent:

Bridgeport, CT – Last night, Jim Himes earned the Democratic endorsement to seek re-election to represent Connecticut’s 4th Congressional District at this year’s 2018 Democratic 4th Congressional District Convention.

“I am extremely grateful to have earned this nomination to seek a sixth term in Congress to represent my home 4th District in Connecticut,” said Himes. “Now more than ever, we need experienced and independent leaders in Congress who are willing to stand up for the people of the United States. I am ready to continue my work fighting every single day for my constituents in the 4th District, and for the people of Connecticut.”

This year’s 4th Congressional District Convention was held at Cesar Batalla School in Bridgeport, CT and was attended by over 150 delegates from all 17 towns in the district.

Himes will appear on the ballot as the official Democratic nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in this year’s general election on Tuesday, November 6, 2018.

He fought real hard for Dodd Frank, which basically ended the investment banking industry and with it 10s of 1000s of jobs in his district (RBS, UBS, GE Capital). Dodd Frank was supposed to protect the little guy, but Himes made sure it gave exemptions to the $500 Trillion derivatives market which dwarfs the financial risk of bad mortgages and credit cards. Besides deriding the current President for the next two years and insuring our district gets the shaft on any federal funding considerations, what is his plan for us?
