NHS alumni to meet Thursday, NCC advice and a farmer’s market

NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk High School alumni set to meet Thursday; NCC to advise walk-ins; farmer’s market opening at Norwalk Community Health.

 

‘Eat Like Nobody’s Looking! $10 per person!’

The Norwalk High School Alumni Association is holding its annual “Picnic in the Park” at 5 p.m. Thursday in Cranbury Park, located at 300 Grumman Ave., rain or shine.

There will be hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, desserts, and more, and a one-year membership in the NHS Alumni Association is included in the $10 entry price, payable at the entry.

Current members eat for free! Wall of Honor inductees will be announced and all proceeds go to scholarships and the Post-Prom Party.

Walk-in advising and registration sessions available at NCC

Students can get a head start on registering for the Fall semester at Norwalk Community College during July, during one of NCC’s Open Advising and Registration sessions in the East Campus Atrium. No appointment is necessary and faculty advisors will be available to answer questions and help students select courses.

The fall semester starts Aug. 28. Walk-In Open Advising sessions are scheduled for:

  • July 11                2 – 5 p.m.
  • July 17                10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • July 25                3 – 6 p.m.
  • July 31                10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Farmer’s Market opens Wednesday

The Wednesday Farmers Market is returning to Norwalk Community Health Center on Wednesday, and will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Wednesday through Thanksgiving in the center’s parking lot at 120 Connecticut Ave.

“Improving access to fresh produce for patients and the community is one of the ways that NCHC, a nonprofit healthcare provider is dedicated to providing comprehensive medical and wellness care within reach of its 14,000 patients and helping its Greater Norwalk community achieve its best health,” a press release said.
