It is an incredibly humbling experience to put yourself ‘out there’ and ask people to place their trust in you. I would like to thank all those who voted for me on Tuesday. With winning elected office comes a great responsibility to represent all the people, not just those who give you their vote. It is an honor to represent every person in the 142nd District as your State Representative, and I look forward to hearing from each of my constituents regardless of our perceived differences.
I am a firm believer in the adage, “United we stand and divided we fall”. Connecticut is a great state, and I believe that everyone – irrespective of party affiliation – wants it to remain so for future generations. In that spirit, I am committed to taking the time to understand the problems we face, listen to all those who have perspectives on how best to address them, and then work together to put in place solutions that will help everyone in Connecticut benefit in the long term. I want to bring this approach to bear on turning around our state’s fiscal crisis, bring affordable and high quality healthcare to all, bring in new business and jobs, address our crumbling transportation infrastructure, safeguard education, and many other important issues.
I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to Fred Wilms. Thank you for your years of service to our state and to Norwalk, and for running a civil, honorable campaign. I would be happy to have a dialogue to explore ideas where we share perspectives, as well as where we don’t. I am interested in discussing your experience in public office in order to foster a seamless transition for our community and for our state.
I look forward to serving all of you.
