Pugliese promoted to detective; Officers recognized

NORWALK, Conn. — At Monday’s meeting of the Norwalk Police Commission, Officer Michael Pugliese was promoted to the rank of Detective. He was hired in 2012 and has worked in the Patrol Division and Special Services Division. Pugliese, who is also a member of the Emergency Services Unit Tactical Response Team, has previously received the Distinguished Service award, a Meritorious Commendation and been named Officer of the Month.

Also at the Commission meeting:

Sgt. Richard DeLallo, Officer Matthew Nyquist, Officer Andrew Green and Officer Michael Mancini were selected as January 2019 Officers of the Month. During the overnight hours of Jan. 7, they investigated a serious domestic violence assault. DeLallo coordinated a detailed search for the suspect that last for several hours. Using a variety of investigative techniques in extremely cold temperatures, they were able to locate the suspect and take him into custody.

Sgt. Justin Bisceglie, Officer Javier Mogollon and Officer Ralph DeVito were selected as January 2019 Officers of the Month. On Jan. 12, they responded to an unconscious person at a residence. They quickly assessed that the individual was not breathing and began ventilation. They also determined that the individual was suffering from an opioid overdose. They administered Narcan and within minutes the person began breathing again.
