Norwalk sooth: Our past, present, and future…

On January 1, NoN Board Member and self-appointed town sooth John Levin, pictured above, made 20 Norwalk predictions on this site. Two have already come true – including Levin’s prediction that Peaches Southern Pub & Juke Joint would get a permanent sign. Just eighteen to go! (Renee Soto)

Dear Norwalk,

What matters to every Norwalker? (or are we Norwalkians? Maybe, Norwalkletes? Whatever . . .) One thing for certain is knowing what is going on in our community – the stuff that really matters. That’s why your support is vital today, on Giving Day, to keep NancyOnNorwalk delivering for our beloved City.

PAST:  Since starting NancyOnNorwalk with her husband Mark in 2012, Nancy Chapman has delivered 10,000+ articles, attracted 57,000+ comments, and made a real difference in how we, as citizens, understand what happens in our town. As part of Mark’s stated journalistic mission “to comfort the afflicted, and afflict the comfortable,” Nancy and Mark have managed to upset plenty in our town, including elected and not elected officials — by reporting what they have said and done, in public hearings and in emails obtained through FOIA requests. She and Mark have met their goal of keeping people informed, and Nancy should be proud of what they have achieved.

PRESENT:  It continues today. And everyday, with NancyOnNorwalk’s daily news and commentary.

THE FUTURE:  This is up to all of us: you and me. NancyOnNorwalk relies on the contributions and subscriptions of its readers to pay its operating expenses, including a living wage for its reporters, Nancy Chapman and Harold Cobin. It has operated as a non-profit 501(c)3 since 2014.

If you can, please donate today for less stress, more fun, and lots of truthiness in 2019.

Thank you,

John Levin
