CTNJ/Opinion:  An angry country on the cliff’s edge

Today, let me praise President Donald Trump for his statement following the shooting in Alexandria. The president said: “We may have our differences, but we do well, in times like these, to remember that everyone who serves in our nation’s capital is here because, above all, they love our country … [W]e are strongest when we are unified and when we work together for the common good.”

When I read this I closed my eyes, and for a moment I could imagine living in a country where there is respect for unity and our common humanity despite all our differences.

But I don’t live there. None of us do.

    With all due respect, Susan Bigelow is irrelevant. I can’t find any awards that she’s won and I’ve actually reached out to her and asked her to name the awards and she refuses to list them.

    @Danny, ditto. I read this entire piece. Some of her work actually builds towards a lucid argument for or against something. But this simply falls off the precipice into the chasm of mediocrity. In an effort to be profound, she is merely sincere. I do not understand how one attains the status of “award winning columnist”. Are cats and wives a requirement?

    It would behoove Nancy On Norwalk to broaden the selection of articles and represent writers with more diverse views and expertise. There is a slew of important economic news about our state. I would recommend articles from the Yankee Institute or the WSJ and I am certain that others could recommend their favorites as well.

    I would also like to know what awards Ms. Bigelow has won…
