A Norwalk photo #36

NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk marked National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day with a ceremony Saturday morning in the Norwalk Public Library. Above, World War II veterans Nick Samodel and Paul Harris stand in the front row next to Mayor Harry Riling and Paul Harris. Also shown, from left in the back row, are veterans Howard Dixon, Dan Caporal, Jeff Dewitt and Ed Prescott.

During the ceremony, Norwalk Fire Department members rang a ceremonial bell as Rilling read the names of the 17 Connecticut service members who lost their lives during the attack on Pearl Harbor, 78 years ago.

wish the event had been better publicized! I was at the library at that time but didn’t know the event was going on… did see several police and fire vehicles outside.
