How about they finish the hole they dug on the corner of Westport Ave and East Ave? Anyone know why they abandoned this and left the gaping open hole there?

@Mr. Meek – I believe that corner is set for changing and widening two-three of the corners – but of course it will do nothing for the congestion coming east bound. As you know – those intersections are the absolute worst – and the block the box lines have done nothing either.
I recall a picture of Bob Duff wearing a smile and holding a shovel. Of course, there are 75 of those per year, so I could be mistaken.

I don’t think it’s part of this resurfacing project either. Rt 1 is at least 5 miles long from Costco to Whole Foods. This article says 2 1/4 miles ending at Belden. Maybe that’s the best spot for a photo op?

Hi Patrick. Good memory, but there were no shovels at that photo op: https://www.nancyonnorwalk.com/2017/01/conndot-beginning-improvements-to-norwalks-no-1-chokepoint/
That story includes a diagram of what’s being done at the corner of East Avenue and Westport Avenue

They are remodeling that intersection, ongoing.

They haven’t touched that intersection in over a month since ripping it apart. Something’s up.
