East Norwalk convenience store held up, police say

NORWALK, Conn. – An armed robber took an undisclosed amount of cash from an East Norwalk convenience store Wednesday evening, Norwalk Police say. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the robbery of the Speedy Mart in Rogers Square, Lt. Paul Vinett said. A suspect fled on foot.

A witness called police at 7 p.m. to report the robbery in progress, Vinett said. A black man wearing a grey hoodie and jeans brandished a handgun during the robbery, Vinett said. The detective bureau is investigating.
