Final figures: Rilling outraised, outspent Moccia

NORWALK, Conn. – The final mayoral campaign financial reports are in, and they show that the winner, Harry Rilling, took in more money and spent more than his opponent, four-term incumbent Republican Richard Moccia.

Rilling raised a total of $163,955.19 to Moccia’s $115,885, and outspent the incumbent, $159,233.40 to $115,885.

Rilling began raising money in late January 2013 and competed with three other Democrats for donations through the September primary. Moccia announced his candidacy a few weeks before Rilling and did not have to raise money for a primary.

Rilling picked up $1,500 in late cash from a trio of developers involved with Waypointe – Stanley Seligson, Paxton Kinol and Clay Fowler (Kinol and Fowler kicked in $500 apiece to Moccia as well) – while the former mayor got an aggregate $2,500 from Andrew Gurevich, his wife and son, all of Westport. Gurevich is the developer who is trying to put a BJ’s Wholesale Club on Main Avenue.

Here are the final campaign finance reports for both candidates:
