HARTFORD, Conn. – Homeowners behind on mortgage payments or underwater in their home loans can talk with their lenders about avoiding foreclosure at a state-sponsored event at the Trumbull Marriott on Friday, May 30.

Attorney General George Jepsen and state Banking Commissioner Howard Pitkin announced the event at a Tuesday press conference. The Trumbull event will be the seventh the state has held.

“We continue to do these because the response rate continues to be so high and the feedback we get is so positive,” Pitkin said.

The event is free as is nearby parking. It will take place between 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
