NORWALK, Conn. – With the municipal election just over a week away, NancyOnNorwalk invited the “downticket” candidates – taxing district, sheriff, constable, selectmen and treasurer – to submit some information to help voters get to them.
John Romano who is running for constable on the Republican ticket, says he is running to fill a need for the office, and brings to the table honesty, integrity, a working knowledge of the law and an ability to get the job done.
Romano has lived on East Rocks Road in the Cranburry section of Norwalk for 30 years, after spending 22 years in West Norwalk and eight in East Norwalk.
Born in Brooklyn, Romano said he “moved here at 4 years old, part of the great migration to Norwalk for the country life .”
After graduating from Norwalk public schools, he attended Norwalk Community College for two years.
Romano is married to Nataliya Romano. They have a daughter, Nicole 4 ½ years old, and two other children Roberto and Michael. Their son Johnny died in 2011.
Romano worked in food industry throughout his school years, then worked for Fathers Construction Company and Emerson Industries until opening/starting All American Custom Pools and Spas in 1977. In addition to the pool company, he has made extensive real estate investment over the years in Norwalk and surrounding towns/cities.
Among his awards and service are Certified Builder of the Year 2008; Past Chairman NSPI/APSP; Past Chairman APSP Retailers; Chairman APSP Builders Council; Past Chair NSPI; Board Member APSP; NESPA member of the year 2006; Board member NESPA since 1982.
