Labor Day week trash, recycling pickups delayed one day

NORWALK, Conn. – City Carting will not be laboring on Labor Day.

Garbage and recycling collection services will follow the holiday schedule, meaning there will be no pickups on Monday, Sept. 1.

Garbage normally picked up Monday (Sept. 1) will be picked up on Tuesday . Tuesday routes will be picked up Wednesday, and so on, until Friday routes are picked up  Saturday, Sept. 6.

Recycling pickups will follow the same schedule as garbage, with all pickups delayed one day.

All pickups will resume normal schedule Monday, Sept. 8.

The Norwalk Transfer Station, 61 Crescent St., and the Yard Debris Site, 15 S. Smith St., will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, and will reopen for regular business hours Tuesday.

    It really don’t make much sense, why do we always have to go outside of Norwalk. question is how much consideration will it these janitors get to apply to the company we are out sourcing to?

    What the heck does NS janitorial outsourcing have to do with the city’s Public Works holiday schedule for garbage and recyclables pick up?
