It is the time of year when we recognize the many sacrifices our veterans endured and to the memory of those no longer with us.
As in years past, we are seeking volunteers to distribute flags on the graves of our Veterans. At 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at St. John’s Cemetery in Norwalk. We will meet at St. John’s for a very nice ceremony and then, as we do each year, will be heading to Riverside and the other cemeteries throughout Norwalk to place the flags.
In order for us to fulfill this tradition we need volunteers, and I am reaching out to each and every person who reads this letter to take a little time as our veterans deserve nothing less.
A big shout out to Bob (King) of King Industries, Inc. Specialty Chemicals for graciously taking over this endeavor after Nordens left Norwalk, and for the direction and dedication of Fran DiMeglio, who was able to sit with Bob and make the smooth transition for this important annual event. I am honored once again to be able to be a part of this event.
Please send an e-mail if you are available to donate a few hours to honor our veterans ( [email protected] or contact King Industries at :[email protected]). We have well over 4,000 flags to place throughout Norwalk cemeteries. Thank you in advance for your continued support and hope to see many of you on May 17 at 10 a.m.!
