HARTFORD, Conn. – Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said Monday he was happy to have two of his Republican rivals — Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie — coming to Connecticut to support his opponent, Tom Foley.

Malloy and Foley are locked in a close rematch of the 2010 gubernatorial race. Jindal and Christie will stump for Foley at separate events within the next month. Both events will raise money for the Connecticut Republican Party.

Jindal will make a fundraising stop at a private residence in West Hartford on Oct. 17 and Christie will appear with Foley at a retailer in Stamford on Tuesday.

It is probably fair to say Christie is best known to CT voters because of all the stories about the George Washington Bridge closure, even if no evidence has yet been uncovered to prove he was directly involved, for political reasons.

Of course governors know exactly what everyone in a 50,000 plus entity is doing at any given time for any one of the 10,000 plus bridges in their states. And we know there are never lane closures on the GWB ever, for any reason. If that’s all they have on Christie, they’ll need to dig a little deeper. I’d rather find out more about our own Governor’s illegal fund raising in California for entities that are running ads against his opponent here.
