NEON accepting energy assistance applications

NORWALK, Conn. – Resident in need of help with their heating bills for the coming fall and winter can apply for aid through Norwalk Economic Opportunity Now (NEON).

NEON is accepting applications for financial assistance for fuel and energy bills under the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) at the agency’s Community Energy Services Department offices, 98 South Main Street, Norwalk, and at NEON-Stamford, 34 Woodland Ave., Stamford.

The energy assistance program offices are open for applications from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The program is available to income-eligible residents of Norwalk, New Canaan, Wilton, Westport, Weston, Darien, Stamford and Greenwich.

Everyone seeking help through the program must apply. Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) cash assistance recipients must provide identification and be verified as being eligible.

Residents of Westport, Darien, New Canaan, Weston, Wilton, and Greenwich, may apply through their town’s Social Services Department office, but must make an appointment, or visit NEON’s Community Energy Services Department offices in either Norwalk or Stamford.
