NORWALK, Conn. – The Norwalk Economic Opportunity Now (NEON) Board of Directors will hold a special meeting at 7 tonight to elect a new chairman and treasurer.
The election was made necessary by the September resignations of William Westcott and Christopher Ruzzi. Westcott, who had been named chairman in May, resigned from the board on Sept. 23 and Ruzzi resigned as treasurer Sept. 27. Ruzzi remains on the Board of Directors.
The two candidates to be brought forward tonight are Mike Berkoff for chairman and Katherine R. Williams for treasurer.

Mike Berkoff (Business/Professional)
Mr. Berkoff is a business owner with strong community affiliations for over 30 years in the local Stamford area. He has an in-depth background in business and community leadership with superior skills in business management, public relations, financial management, and human capital resourcing. Mr. Berkoff lives in Stamford (for 45 years) with his wife and 2 children that attend the public school system. He is a Stamford Police Commissioner for over 11 years with superior track record for upholding the business ethics and well-being of the Stamford Police Force and the community it serves. A decision maker and change agent with proven record of achievement in the following areas: Business Operations & Strategy, Union Contract Negotiations, Employee Resourcing & Advancement, Community & Government Affairs, Social Responsibility, and Public Relations.
Katherine R. Williams (Community/Low Income)
Ms. Williams has nineteen years serving community; has volunteered throughout the Norwalk Public School System (schools that her son has attended), participated with different parent groups, and other professional parent activities. Ms. Williams is a graduate of the Parent Leadership Training Institute (PLTI) and has served on the Norwalk Public School Superintendent Search Committee.
Tonight’s meeting will be held at the NEON headquarters, 98 S. Main St.
