New NPS website up and running

The new Norwalk Public Schools website went live Sunday.

NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk Public Schools has unveiled its new website.

The site went live Sunday, and, while it still has some pages that have not been populated, there is plenty there to read, plus links to parent and teacher portals, Common Core information and more.

Here is the site’s own announcement of its debut:

“Norwalk Public Schools now has a new and engaging website! The site has a fresh new look and user-friendly navigation.

“The new site is designed to be dynamic with regularly updated information prominently displayed for easy access by parents, staff, and community members.

“The new website is just one piece of the Norwalk Public School’s recent efforts to improve communications. In November, the district launched a Parent Portal allowing parents to privately view online their child’s grades, attendance and other information, as well as direct communication with teachers. An automated phone messenger and text system is activated for important communication to parents and guardians. NPS recently launched a district Facebook page and will also soon be on Twitter. “Community Conversations” and a variety of other meetings, both in schools and throughout the community, are taking place throughout the city.

“Individual schools will also transition over to the new format in the coming months.

“Additional content and features will be added regularly. Parents and guardians, as well as members of the community, should check back regularly, or sign up for our news feed by clicking on the symbol at the top of “Recent News.”
