NORWALK, Conn. – Documents filed with the Connecticut Secretary of State’s office show the financial progress made by those seeking electoral victory this fall.
The April 10 filing, which covers the period from Jan. 1 to March 31, shows that Republican Fred Wilms collected $2,990 in his drive to represent the 142nd legislative district. Potential Democratic opponent Andy Garfunkel, former town clerk, collected $4,000.50 during the time period.
Republican Emily Wilson, who is also running to represent the 142nd legislative district, the seat now held by Republican Larry Cafero, got $525 in contributions, according to the April 10 filing.
State Sen. Bob Duff (D-25) began the period with $8,741.08, according to the April 10 filing obtained from the state’s website. His contributions totaled $18,662.50 at the end of the period.
Duff’s only announced opponent, Democrat Israel Navarro, reports $1,050 raised in the time period, in addition to $250 raised previously, for a total thus far of $1,300.
State Rep. Chris Perone (D-137) raised $1,720 from Jan. 1 to March 31, according to his April 10 filing. His total was $1,741.50. State Rep. Bruce Morris (D-140) started the period with nothing, but listed $4,200 as his total as of March 31. Morris’ only announced opponent, former council member Warren Peña, raised $5,668, according to his filing.
Councilman David Watts (D-District A), who has an exploratory committee, collected $267.50 from Jan. 1 to March 31, according to the April 10 filing. He started the period with $4,660.69, for a total of $5,614.88.
