By Former Town Clerk Andy Garfunkel
NORWALK, Conn. – Now that I’ve been joined by at least two other Democratic candidates also seeking to serve as Norwalk’s next mayor, it’s clear that Norwalk’s Democratic Party is alive and well. Despite any differences between us, one thing is clear – Norwalk needs a new direction, and I’m looking forward to discussing the issues and presenting my plan for Norwalk’s future with the voters between now and Election Day.
As a life-long Norwalk resident and graduate of our public schools, with a 10-year track record as town clerk and volunteer contributions from serving as a trustee of the Norwalk Seaport Association to membership on the Norwalk Senior Center’s board and the city’s Human Relations Commission, I’ve know first-hand how our quality of life is directly impacted by our mayor’s performance. Today we’re feeling the effects of lack of leadership at the top, whether you look at the crime in our streets, the performance of our schools or our tax burden. I’m looking forward to working with everyone in our community to make Norwalk a City we can all be proud of.
