Norwalk employee raises covered broad range

NORWALK, Conn. – Here is a list of pay raises given to some of the highest-earning Norwalk employees over the past three years:

  • Corporation Counsel Bob Maslan, who works part time, made $79,428 in 2010, $81,270 in 2011 and $82,315 in 2012. That is a 2.32 percent raise in 2011 and a 1.28 percent raise in 2012.
  • Deputy Corporation Counsel Jeffry Spahr (full time) made $135,578 in 2010, $138,768 in 2011 and $140,019 in 2012. That is a 2.3 percent raise in 2011 and a .9 percent raise in 2012.
  • Department of Public Works Director Hal Alvord made $128,958 in 2010, $131,958 in 2011 and $133,649 in 2012. That is a .977 percent raise in 2011 and a 1.28 percent raise in 2012.
  • Director of Finance Thomas Hamilton made $133,248 in 2010, $136,332 in 2011 and $138,079 in 2012. That is a 2.3 percent raise in 2011 and a 1.2 percent raise in 2012.
  • Management and Budgets Director Robert Barron made $125,291 in 2011 and $126,235 in 2012. That is a .75 percent raise.
  • Department of Parks and Recreation Director Mike Mocciae made $120,734 in 2010, $123,100 2011 and $124,689 in 2012. That is a 1.9 percent raise in 2011 and a 1.2 percent raise in 2012.
  • Fire Chief Denis McCarthy made $127,157 in 2010, $128,477 in 2011 and $129,950 in 2012. That is a 1.3 percent raise in 2011 and a 1.1 percent raise in 2012.
  • Assistant Corporation Counsel Dianne Beltz-Jacobson made $105,149 in 2010, $107,195 in 2011 and $108,565 in 2012. That is a 1.94 percent raise in 2011 and a 1.27 percent raise in 2012.
  • Comptroller Frederick Gilden made $130,756 in 2010, $134,635 in 2011 and $137,959 in 2012. That is a 2.9 percent raise in 2011 and a 2.4 percent raise in 2012.
  • Health Department Director Tim Callahan made $109,330 in 2010, $111,535 in 2011 and $112,531 in 2012. That is a 2.3 percent raise in 2011 and a .89 percent raise in 2012.
  • Personnel and Labor Relations Director James Haselkamp made $119,305 in 2010, $121,641 in 2011 and $123,205 in 2012. That is a 1.9 percent raise in 2011 and a 1.2 percent raise in 2012.
  • Kendall Elementary School Principal Tony Ditrio made $158,606 in 2010, $161,407 in 2011 and $165,098 in 2012. That is a 1.7 percent raise in 2011 and a 2.2 percent raise in 2012.
  • Brien McMahon High School Principal Suzanne Koroshetz made $162,712 in 2010, $165,511 in 2011 and $168,407 in 2012. That is a 1.7 percent raise in 2011 and a 1.7 percent raise in 2012.
  • Norwalk Federation of Teachers President Bruce Mellion made $104,765 in 2010, $106,184 in 2011 and $108,299 in 2012. That is a 1.3 percent raise in 2011 and a 1.9 percent raise in 2012.
  • Roton Special Education Teacher Robert Seferian made $121,609 in 2010, $123,434 in 2011 and $125,110 in 2012. That is a 1.3 percent raise in 2011 and a 1.5 percent raise in 2012.
  • Brookside Special Education Teacher Douglas Geyer made $116,265 in 2010, $117,526 in 2011 and $124,178 in 2012. That is a 1 percent raise in 2011 and a 5.6 percent raise in 2012.
  • Brookside Special Education Teacher Marion Arnista made $119,390 in 2010, $121,106 in 2011 and $123,293 in 2012. That is a 1.4 percent raise in 2011 and a 1.8 percent raise in 2012.
  • Norwalk High School Teacher Steve Papadopoulos made $118,125 in 2010, $122,783 in 2011 and $122,923 in 2012. That is a 3.9 percent raise in 2011 and a .11 percent raise in 2012.
  • Tracey Elementary School Teacher Diane Kapuse made $112,254 in 2010, $119,819 in 2011 and $121,453 in 2012. That is a 6.7 percent raise in 2011 and a 1.3 percent raise in 2012.
