It is a genuine privilege to offer a strong endorsement of Patrizia Zucaro to represent the residents of Norwalk, Wilton and Westport in the state’s 143rd Assembly District. If elected, Patrizia will succeed Gail Lavielle, a five-term representative who is not seeking re-election and who strongly supports Ms. Zucaro.

Patrizia’s parents emigrated to Connecticut from Italy, bringing together a large, close-knit, family that is spread throughout Westport and Norwalk. Growing up with family in Norwalk, she has long been familiar with issues facing the city.

A practicing attorney, Patrizia has a deep understanding of the difficulties facing our area’s small businesses, many of whom she has represented. Her strong business underpinning affords her a unique insight into the severe problems facing the state’s severe financial issues.

Connecticut ranks 41st out of the 50 states in cost of living. As a business person, Patrizia recognizes where and how better state fiscal management could make everyday living more affordable for the average worker. Patrizia recently cited the US Census Bureau’s figures that in 2018 more than 114,000 residents left the state because of high taxes and the state’s frivolous spending.

As an attorney Patrizia understands the roles and responsibilities of law enforcement agencies and she believes protecting the rights of all individuals and enabling law enforcement to keep communities safe aren’t mutually exclusive. She will support amendments to the recently passed police accountability bill that will restore a balance between community safety and respect for individual rights that benefit everyone. Patrizia has been endorsed by the Norwalk Police Union.

Patrizia has also been endorsed by the Retired Teachers of Connecticut as well as the National Federation of Independent Business.

Norwalk, Wilton and Westport deserve a representative with the intelligence, stature and sincerity of Patrizia Zucaro.
