NORWALK, Conn. – OK, so what is going on at Freese Park?

Norwalk 2.0 is what’s going on — or, more precisely, the organization’s Artists Village, open from 6 to 11 p.m. today (May 30) and Saturday, June 5-7 and June 12-14.

Tonight, take a Sip and Stroll walking tour of Norwalk’s WPA murals with Susan Wallerstein and Melissa Slattery. Walk from Freese Park to City Hall, where docents will conduct the tour of the murals hung throughout the building.

And there’s more throughout the village, including interactive exhibits, performances, kids activities, plus food and drink. It’s an event not to be missed. For the complete schedule, go to the Norwalk 2.0 website.

Folks ought to know by now to cringe when they see the words “Proposed Improvements” used in the same sentence as “intersection” in Norwalk. It often sounds good on paper and during the dog-and-pony shows, but in reality can result in long-term construction nuisance and permanent traffic disaster, the most recent of which are Cedar St @ Fairfield Avenue; Strawberry Hill @ Tierney; Exit 15 ramp @ West Ave; soon to be US 1 @ East Ave; Scribner @ CT Ave…..
Let’s hope the Stuart Ave/CT Ave project fares better.
