O’Neill’s 5K Run, Sunday in SoNo

NORWALK, Conn. – A road race scheduled for Sunday in SoNo will benefit people with disabilities.

More than 700 runners will participate in the 7th Annual O’Neill’s 5K Run in Memory of Annie Curtin, a press release said.

“The event was established by Annie’s parents and O’Neill’s Irish Pub and Restaurant to celebrate Annie, who passed away almost nine years ago when she was 6 ½, by helping people in the community,” the release said. “This year’s designated beneficiary is Ability Beyond. O’Neill’s will also host an after party featuring a barbecue, awards, entertainment, beer and prizes.”

The race starts at 11 a.m. Sunday at O’Neill’s Pub and Restaurant, located at 93 North Main St. You can register or contribute by going to abilitybeyond.org or www.firstgiving.com/ abilitybeyonddisability/O- Neill-7th-Annual-5K-Run.

Ability Beyond is a 501{c} (3) organization headquartered in Bethel and in Mount Kisco, N.Y., providing a wide range of services for more than 3,000 people with a disability, the release said.

“All proceeds from the event will be used to continue to provide critical programs and support for people with disabilities in Connecticut and New York,” the release said. “Through innovative community job training and placement, supported living, and recreational and educational opportunities, Ability Beyond helps thousands of individuals each year to live full and rewarding lives.”
