Opinion: Shout Out for efforts to help children

Shout Out to our Members for the incredible work and accomplishments achieved on behalf of our city’s children throughout this past year. All of us at Norwalk ACTS wish you and your families a happy holiday and joyful New Year!

As we look ahead and plan for 2019, we know that there is much more work to be done. Sometimes it’s overwhelming and it’s hard to know where to begin, but if you think about the children in your world, neighborhood, school or community, that’s a great place to start effecting change. Here are some thoughts to keep in mind:

• Huge challenges can be overcome by working together.
• Believe in your ability to change the world. Even a small act can have a snowball effect, making a huge difference.
• Problems – and solutions – emerge when we take the time to listen.
• There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.

We look forward to working with parents, teachers, education professionals, investors, business owners, community-based organizations, city officials and more to continue our important work in 2019, making Norwalk a healthier and happier community for every child.
