Rilling rally planned for Sunday in South Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – Democratic candidate for mayor Harry Rilling will continue to court Norwalk’s minority community Sunday, Sept. 1, at a barbecue fundraiser in South Norwalk.

The “Rally for Harry Rilling,” with a $25 donation, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at 145 Bouton St. The menu includes barbecued spare ribs, and side dishes, according to a press release.

The event is being sponsored by Bobby and Mimi Burgess, Migdalia Rivas, Yvonne Rodriquez, Segundo Perez and Andreas Gavrielidis.

All proceeds will benefit Get Out the Vote-Harry Rilling for Mayor.

    Mr. Rilling’s reaching out to our diversified community is certainly commendable and appreciated. One wonders whether he was aware that one of the listed sponsors, Ms. Rivas, a current BOE member, did not support the appointment of Norwalk’s first Hispanic Superintendent, Dr. Rivera. That well publicized lack of support disappointed many outside the diversified community. As does the reasons offerred for non-support.

    It seems he is begging for anyone that would be stupid enough to vote for him. He’s desperate as he knows he has zero chance on Sept 10
