NORWALK, Conn. – A familiar face was missing from Democratic festivities Tuesday in Norwalk – Mayor Harry Rilling was nowhere to be seen.

Nothing to worry about, State Sen. Bob Duff (D-25) said.

“Some of you know that he had surgery today. He is resting comfortably and he is doing well. So we wish him all the best… I know that he has been texting us,” Duff said, to supporters at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Rilling responded in the wee hours of the morning to an email from NoN.

“Nothing major and expecting a speedy recovery,” he said.

Minor ? And it kept him from a victory party ?

Harry, get better soon. Your friends worry when you miss a victory party.

Minor surgery is surgery that’s performed on someone other than you.

Thanks Oldtimer. I had no choice on the date and I have two full days of recovery/rehab.

Lwitherspoon: that is quite true. Thanks for the chuckle

This comment was disallowed as it included speculation on personal information that is neither public nor, in this case, close to the truth.

Speculation? Really there Mr Editor, should try and lighten up a bit. It wasn’t meant as personal speculation, was a stab at a humorous compliment. Not sure if you took offense to ingrown nails, if your suffering from such ailment there are treatments, ya know. If its my observation that the mayor is moving in the right direction and doing what he can, that wrinkled your undies, than why do you have a comment section at all. If you dont like people commenting, dont like the interaction and dialog than just eliminate the comments and you’ll have the bully pulpit all to yourself. But of course no feedback from what audience that will remain. Just have brown nosers looking for an angle to exploit your publications. Mr Editor, if you take yourself, too, seriously you loose your edge. Be wise to try and remember that.

Take your meds, sleep it off and call your sponsor in the morning.
