NORWALK, Conn. – A fire in a vacant South Norwalk house was extinguished by 25 firefighters Friday afternoon. No one was injured in the fire, which was brought under control on 17 minutes, Norwalk Dep. Fire Chief Chris King said.

The fire at 3 Olean St. was reported at 3:27 p.m. The first company arrived within four minutes of the 911 call and found fire showing on the first floor front of the house, King said. Firefighters aggressively attacked the fire and searched the house to confirm that no one was living in it.

Firefighters remained on scene for two hours, he said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
