NORWALK, Conn. – Do you ever watch those T.J. Lubinsky programs on PBS? Lubinsky produced all those wonderful musical reunions and tributes to bygone eras – mostly the music and artists of the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s, which happens to be my favorite era.
Those programs rake in big bucks for PBS, which broadcasts them during the network’s fundraising drives. Lubinsky always explains that those concerts, and the resultant TV shows, would go away with donor support.
We can relate.
We need the financial support of our readers if we are to continue to bring you the Norwalk stories you won’t find elsewhere. I won’t go into detail here. We focus on local governance, be it city, schools, social services or the state delegation. We provide a much-needed alternative voice to the long-entrenched local daily, a voice you’ll find nowhere else.
NancyOnNorwalk is a ma-and-pa operation, two people working seven days a week to keep the site current and the readers informed. To continue to do this, we need to pay the bills – the rent, the utilities, the groceries. We need your help.
Since the first of July, our readership has exploded, nearly quadrupling in November before hitting the holiday slowdown.
In fact, we did a little math. If every reader who has come to the site at least once in 2013 donated just $3 – $3 for the entire year – we would have paid for 2013 and be well on our way to being financed through the first half of 2014.
Unfortunately, not everyone donates. Not even close. And, unfortunately, that means we have to come to our readers and ask, from time to time – more often than we would like – to help us continue to bring you the news that affects every Norwalk citizen and taxpayer.
We cannot sugarcoat this. While we continue to try to ramp up an organization to increase advertising sales and to pursue non-profit status and grant money, we need you, our readers, to carry the load.
Help us over the hump. Help us keep the heat on, both in our apartment and in City Hall. Make a donation today. Without your help, we cannot exist.
To donate, go to the box in the upper right part of your screen and make a donation online, or send us a check made out to Englewood Edge LLC to Nancy On Norwalk, P.O. Box 64, Norwalk, CT 06856
Thank you,
Nancy, Mark & Eric Chapman
