Weather wreaks havoc with Norwalk schools’ plans

NORWALK, Conn. – A community outreach meeting for Norwalk’s superintendent search scheduled for Monday night has been rescheduled to Wednesday.

The session planned for the Stepping Stones Museum for Children will instead be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Board of Education Chairman Mike Lyons did not know yet about the session scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at Norwalk High School.

Norwalk Public Schools were expected to be open Monday, but 144 teachers called in and said they couldn’t make it due to the snow, said Tad Diesel, director of business and marketing, in a press release. That meant 85 classrooms could not be covered by the number of substitutes available.
